The Lions traveled with 50+ players and supporters to Las Vegas on May 31st.  In a historic first, the Lions played a competitive Co-Ed Footy match against the Gamblers. In the friendly match, in which the Lions "loaned" 5 or 6 players to the Vegas side, each side lined up with 9 players in a hotly-contested, skilled affair. The combined LV/SD side won out in a squeaker.   LV 5.7.37  def. SD  4.5.29 We hope this is only the first of many competitive Co-Ed games to come! After the Co-Ed match the Lions men's team lined up against Las Vegas for the first true test of the season. . . With the mercury well above the 90 degree mark, it would truly be a test of endurance and fitness. However, with 35 suited players in attendance, the Lions were ready for the challenge.    The Gamblers came out of the barrel firing true and drew first blood. However, it soon became a one-sided affair with the Lions up four goals at the Quarter siren. The boys never looked back and ran away with a comfortable lead throughout the affair. SD 16.16.112 def. The Lions board would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for the genuine hospitality of the Las Vegas Gamblers, who put on a great event and fed us after the test.
