The game started at a very fast pace with the Gamblers putting good pressure on the Lions and kicking the first goal of the match. It was obvious that the Gamblers were up for this game and the Lions minds were not quite on the job. The Lions steady late in the first quarter to hold a 2 goal lead.
The second was much the same as the first with the Gamblers really taking it to the Lions and by half time the lead was a slender 3 goals and everything pointed to a hard contest in the last half. There was not much passion in the Lions camp and at half time the boys were urged to get some Lions spirit and feeling into the game. A few moves were made and the boys responded. Millsy took control in the ruck and gave Freddy and Stinger first use which created anumber of oppurtunities for the likes of JV and the vetran Gunny. The Lions kicked 6 goals in the third term and 7 in the last quarter to run out comfortable winners in the end. However the scoreboard probably didn't reflect the closeness of the contest.
In the end it was the Lion's fitness that really helped run over the Gamblers. The Las Vegas boys never stopped trying though and it's great to see so much enthusiasim and committment to the game. The club is headed in the right direction and will only get better and better as time goes on. We wish them all the best at the National tournament.

Of course the fun was not all had out on the ground, the boys headed out to the Hard Rock Casino for a night of drunken debaunchery. How does that saying go again? What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas? You bet it does! ;)
