APPARENTLY LIONS HAVE SKILLS!!!
Justin Valley, Jeff Blankman, Brett "Viking" Ullman, Brandon Blankenship, Donnie Lucero, & JJ Cisneros
Six Lions headed down to the Faststream Florida Invitational Tournament this past weekend to get some game time and attend the final tryout camp for the US Revolution squad, which will be representing the United States in the International Cup to be held in Melbourne, Oz late this summer.
JV, Viking, Brando, JJ, and Donnie made the travelling team and were named to the final 35 man squad, while Jeff Blankman was named an alternate. Donnie Lucero is also the captain of the side, a nod to his quality play and leadership on the field.
Six players is the higest number named from any particular team in the US! It is truly a tribute to the strength of Americans in our club and the strength of the Lions as a team . . . check out the USFooty website for more info. Congratulations, boys! We'll be keeping an eye on your progress and wishing you well in Oz this summer!
CARN THE REVOS! BRING THE CUP HOME FOR THE YANKS IN 2008!

Well . . . we've had two solid weeks of Co-Ed Footy now. There have been about 10 new ladies out to play and a few new blokes as well. There are more who are waiting in the wings to come out as well. THE MORE THE BETTER! WE'RE HOPING FOR 20 NEW LADY PLAYERS in the next two weeks!
So . . .
Please come on out to our next Co-Ed League Day, which is slotted for 2pm Saturday April 19th at Doyle Elementary
Any age, gender, or skill level is welcome!
Take a look at out "Co-Ed League Intro video" (above . . . and on the Co-Ed Footy Page) for a good idea of what's in store for you when you come out. The video includes explanation of skills, rules, some guidelines on kicking and handpassing, and some great footage from our first two games!

The Lions held their first Co-Ed Footy training and practice run this past weekend to great success!!!
We had about 10 new recruits (mostly of the fairer sex, but some ogres as well) out to learn the skills and rules of the game. Afterwards we "scrimmaged" for about a half hour. A good time was had by all, as they say . . . and it was a successful start to what we hope will be a regular and productive new chapter in the San Diego Lions' history books.
Check the "Co-Ed Footy" page of the website over the next few weeks to see some action video, photos, and videos explaining the skills and rules of the game.
We'd love to see more people out!
Each Sunday for the next four-to-five weeks, we will be having Co-Ed Footy after the regular Sunday training. It'll start around 12:30 to 1:00pm and we'll head to a local pub for a Sunday Arvo Social afterwards! See ya there . . . and GO THE LIONS!
